Following on from last week’s activity at Barry Docks, West Buckland Plant has once again been at the heart of large-scale vessel loading operations in South Wales.
This week saw even more of our equipment join the project, supporting the ongoing ship loading of wood bound for biomass energy production. Alongside the Sennebogen 835E Material Handler, two additional machines have joined the operation — a Hitachi ZX130 excavator and a CAT 938K wheel loader.
Over 2,000 Tonnes Loaded in Two Days
Between Monday and Tuesday alone, more than 2,000 tonnes of wood were successfully loaded, with every tonne handled efficiently thanks to the skill of the operators and the reliability of the machinery. The combination of the Sennebogen’s reach and the on-site loading power of the Hitachi and CAT machines made the process seamless from start to finish.
This operation demonstrates how West Buckland Plant’s fleet continues to play a vital role in supporting the renewable energy sector, ensuring material handling at the docks remains efficient, safe, and productive.
Machinery That Keeps Industry Moving
Our diverse fleet allows us to supply the right machine for any environment — from dockside loading and quarry operations to construction and waste management. Each piece of equipment is maintained to the highest standard by our in-house workshop, guaranteeing performance and reliability on every job.
As demand for sustainable energy and efficient logistics continues to grow, West Buckland Plant remains ready to support operations across the UK and beyond.
